So maybe it was only a statue that fell victim to the chomp, but the not-so-fondly labeled "Cardiff Kook" found himself within the mouth of a big one this weekend. The kook himself is located directly behind the San Elijo State Beach campground, so how someone managed to construct the jaws giganto without being busted is truly beyond me. As a local in this area, I've seen everything from anti-stand up paddling garb to a festive Jack-o-lantern atop our highly talked about local, but in terms of proportion and inventiveness the shark takes the cake.
