The team formerly known as Visa Cash App RB (VCARB) has announced a name change for the 2025 season. Moving forward, the Italian outfit will be known as Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. This change, revealed by the Faenza-based team, part of the Red Bull family, aims to avoid confusion and streamline its identity.
Peter Bayer, CEO of the team, explained the reasoning behind the change: “We recently just confirmed we’ve been struggling to a certain extent with making it clear to people what the team name is and we’ve seen so many versions.”
Reflecting on the transition from AlphaTauri to Visa Cash App RB earlier this year, Bayer admitted the process was rushed: “It all happened within weeks and we’ve been probably rushing a couple of the things. What we see ultimately is that people are referring to us as Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. Racing Bulls is something which anyways is our company name and certainly, I’ve seen it in the German, Austrian, Italian, French media being used mostly actually.”
The move aims to distinguish the team from Red Bull Racing and clarify the meaning of the abbreviation. “People [were] struggling with the RB thing alone, some of them mixing it up with Red Bull, others didn’t actually really know what it stands for, and so that’s why we decided to clarify that and basically what you will see in the future is Visa Cash App Racing Bulls and VCARB as an abbreviation,” Bayer added.
