Grand Prix Plaza, North America’s largest Formula 1 fan experience, will reopen January 30 with a dramatically redesigned signature attraction: F1 X, a fully immersive, 20,000-square-foot interactive exhibition that places fans at the center of Formula 1’s past, present, and future.

Located at the home of the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix, the relaunched F1 X promises a deeper, more technologically advanced experience than ever before. Fans will explore racing history, strategy, engineering, and competition through interactive displays, hands-on simulations, design labs, and a powerful new 4D theater.

“F1 X is designed to bring fans into every aspect of Formula 1 — from its rich heritage and innovation to the teamwork, strategy, and adrenaline that define the sport,” said Benjamin Larvie, General Manager of Grand Prix Plaza. “It is a bold, experiential showcase of the innovation at the heart of our sport and marks Grand Prix Plaza as a must-visit destination for fans both in Las Vegas and beyond.”

A New Era of Immersive Racing Experiences

The headline enhancement is the all-new 4D theater, powered by Liminal Space’s proprietary “Ghost Tile” stereoscopic LED technology. The theater surrounds guests with holographic visuals, creating the illusion of race cars and on-track action moving around the room in real time. Advanced motion seating, multi-dimensional audio, and physical in-theater effects delivered by MediaMation Entertainment add to the sensation of being inside a live Formula 1 race.

The result is a cinematic, fully immersive experience that blends real-world action with dynamic virtual imagery. Guests will wear lightweight 3D glasses and witness 360-degree visuals designed to feel lifelike and immediate.

Celebrating Formula 1 History and Innovation

The revitalized Legacy of Formula 1 gallery highlights iconic moments, engineering breakthroughs, and championship-winning machines that shaped the sport. Guests can view authentic memorabilia and detailed replicas — including historically significant race cars provided by The Petersen Automotive Museum.

Featured displays will include:

  • 1987 Lotus 99T — Driven by Ayrton Senna, featuring the iconic Camel livery.

  • 1994 Williams FW15D — A transitional chassis following the FIA ban on electronic driver aids.

  • 1999 Ferrari F399 — The car that earned Ferrari its first Constructors’ Championship in 16 years.

Guests can also explore modern race-car evolution through replicas such as a 2023 Aston Martin front wing, a 2024 Williams F1 Team steering wheel, and a 2024 McLaren MCL38.

Hands-On Design and Racing Challenges

A major focus of the relaunch is giving fans a more active role in the experience.

Visitors begin their journey by creating a custom Pit Pass — designing a team identity complete with colors and logos. From there, they team-build, strategize, and test performance across several stations, including:

  • Advanced Design Studio, where guests digitally customize their own Formula 1 car livery that is projection-mapped onto a full-scale race car.

  • Helmet Design & Driver Transformation, featuring avatar technology that places guests inside a virtual race suit.

  • Pit Stop Challenge, now centered in the heart of the exhibition with a full-scale Formula 1 car and real-world tools, encouraging team-based tire-change competition.

  • Pit Wall Experience, simulating high-pressure strategic decision-making during a live Grand Prix.

The experience concludes with a dramatic Livery Reveal Finale, visible from the F1 HUB Lounge — allowing guests and spectators to share the moment together.

Part of a Larger Racing Playground

F1 X is one of three cornerstone attractions at Grand Prix Plaza, a 39-acre motorsports destination built on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. The complex also features:

  • F1 DRIVE — A high-speed electric karting experience located on a portion of the actual Formula 1 circuit, the only attraction of its kind.

  • F1 HUB — Home to racing simulators, retail, dining, and immersive content spaces.

The building also houses multiple flexible event venues including the Cool Down Room, Turn 1 Lounge, and GPP Garage.

Hours, Tickets, and Visitor Information

Grand Prix Plaza will reopen January 30 and operate:

  • Sunday–Thursday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Friday–Saturday: 10 a.m. to midnight

  • F1 X will be closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Tickets for F1 X will start at $59, with discounted pricing available for locals, military service members, children, and seniors. Sales will open online in the coming weeks, and fans are encouraged to sign up for updates at grandprixplaza.com.

With its powerful combination of interactive engineering exhibits, racing simulations, historical artifacts, and advanced visual effects, the new-look F1 X is positioned to establish Grand Prix Plaza as one of the premier Formula 1 fan destinations in the world — and a must-see attraction for visitors to Las Vegas.
