Chevy Confirms Corvette C8 Lapped The Nürburgring In 7:29.9

Recently, a video surfaced on the internet showing professional driver Oliver Gavin’s Twitter page showing him driving around in the all new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8.

The video seen on his page was part of a documentary of the Corvette, the trailer seen here.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 made its debut to the world July 18, 2019. It’s the first mid-engined Corvette in history, which means it’s a big deal for a variety of reasons. And now, a half a year later, production has begun on the car meaning it will soon be available for you to buy and drive. However, people want to know, how does it stack up with other sports cars?

If you watch closely, you will catch a glimpse of the car’s official time in the trailer, and Chevy confirmed the number, 7:29.9. That’s one second slower than the rumored 7:28:30 lap time.

The C8 Corvette’s lap time competes with other manufactuers. The C8’s time is a bit behind the 2009 Nissan GT-R at 7:29.03. However, it did beat the 2015 Audi R8 V10 Plus and the 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, which is remarkable considering the price disparity between the Corvette and these supercars.
