It does not matter whether he is on a BMX or MTB, David Godziek can do it all. Godziek won on home soil in Poland and older brother Szymon finished third as Red Bull Roof Ride delivered thrills as one of the 2021 FMB World Tour MTB Slopestyle stops.
The Polish city of Katowice hosted a unique event, the very first one of that kind in the country as Red Bull Roof Ride saw the world’s top 28 mountain bike slopestyle riders fighting for the victory.
The podium was dominated by Poles with Dawid Godziek winning, thanks to a 95 score, and Szymon third after a 89.83 score as Sweden’s Max Fredriksson ended runner-up after a 90 score.
“It’s an incredible feeling to win in front of my home audience,” said David. “I’d like to thank everyone for their support. I’m happy and satisfied with what I’ve managed to show during the event.”
On being on the podium with David, Szymon said:
“It was my dream to join David on the World Tour Slopestyle podium. I’m glad it was such a success and all riders could complete their runs. I hope that we managed to make fans fall in love with our sport. Every event of that kind motivates me to work even harder, so I hope that I will soon stand on the podium with my brother again!”
