Mind Surfing” An 805 Beer Documentary about Pro Surfer Conner Coffin Set to Premiere on August 3 at the Vans US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach with Worldwide Release on August 5
“Mind Surfing” highlights the influences and path that Coffin took to become one of the world’s preeminent surfers, starting at an early age with exposure to the sport from his father, teaching him values such as hard work, discipline, and determination up to his humble competition against his contemporaries, including his brother, pro surfer Parker Coffin. Last season, Coffin earned himself a place in the inaugural World Surf League Finals and a career-high finish as the World No. 4.
Highlighting his love for his upbringing along California’s Central Coast, Coffin commented: “No matter where I am on the globe doing what I love, nothing compares to coming back home to California. It’s more than just a home. My roots are here. That’s why I am grateful 805 Beer decided to tell my story, they come from where I come from, they understand our culture, so it was easy to trust them with this.”
“It is an honor to share and capture Conner’s story, as I’ve known the Coffin family for decades and wanted to commemorate all of the achievements,” said director Keith Malloy. “I hope viewers find his story as inspiring as I did. To many, he is one of this generation’s best surfers and ‘Mind Surfing’ not only shares his professional journey and career accomplishments but offers a real portrait of the person himself.”
“Conner embodies fearlessness and striving for perfection, yet he carries himself through life with humility and modesty,” said Firestone Walker CMO Dustin Hinz. “805 Beer is proud to have had a part in telling his story, he embodies everything we strive for as a company.”
