2 for 2 in Dallas. Webb extends Supercross points lead.

While there can be much discussed about the racing, the hard passes and the post race comments in the 450SX Class of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season, the fans this year are getting the best stuff from the 250SX Western Regional.

Four races into the west series with four different winners. In a loaded field, one could reasonably suspect that there would be a battle for the top step each race, but with past seasons as a guide, there is usually one repeat winner. Not this year, as Team Honda HRC’s Hunter Lawrence took his first Supercross win in only his sixth start matching his brother Jett for total wins on the season.

Having been on the podium already this season, Lawrence had come so close to getting the overall win.

“There were times that I have wanted to quit and walk away from racing,” said Lawrence in the post race press conference. “This win makes up for all of the heart ache and validates all of the hard work.”

In the 450SX class, Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb is two for two so far in Dallas as he won again extending his points lead after taking the points lead away from Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen Saturday night.

“We are in a good position,” said Webb in the post race press conference. “However, being in a good position is only a part of the formula. We have to remain consistent each race since the points are still so close at the top. Our focus is the next race here in Texas this weekend then we can turn our attention to the next race. We cannot get to far ahead of ourselves but we have worked hard as a team to get the red plate and be in the position we are in.”

With one more round in Arlington this Saturday the series then heads into a short break before an Atlanta triple-header and then the two-race season finale in Salt Lake City, Utah.
