Salt Lake City is gearing up for a massive dose of adrenaline and excitement as the X Games make their way to Utah next summer. The globally renowned action sports festival will take over the Utah State Fairpark and Event Center from June 27-29, 2025. Featuring world-class competitions in Moto X, BMX, and skateboarding, this event promises three days of high-energy performances and entertainment.
The announcement marks a significant milestone as X Games Salt Lake City 2025 will be the second of three X Games events leading up to the league’s expansion in 2026. Partnering with Salt Lake County, the Utah State Fairpark is set to host the event, creating an electrifying atmosphere for fans of extreme sports. Ticket sales are expected to begin next month.
Ryan Sheckler, X Games gold medal-winning skateboarder, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Salt Lake City to compete. “You guys support sports, and we are excited to come out and put on a great show,” Sheckler said. “We want to really be accessible to the children and fans who show up to the events.”
2025 also marks the 30th anniversary of the X Games, and event organizers anticipate a large turnout for the celebration. CEO Jeremy Bloom highlighted the caliber of talent expected to compete, saying, “If you look at some of our previous events, we’ve sold thousands of tickets. We will see the world’s best BMX riders. The world’s best skateboarders. The world’s best X athletes.” He added, “Every athlete you see, male and female, are truly the best in the world.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall praised the event, emphasizing its importance to the city’s expanding entertainment scene. “It is a phenomenal time to be a Salt Laker, even better time to be a sports fan in Salt Lake City,” she said. Referring to the city’s growing reputation as a sports hub, Mendenhall added, “Just seven months ago, we were excited about the decision that we get to welcome the Olympics Winter Games in 2034. We have done our part to secure the Utah Jazz and the new NHL team for the next 30 years in downtown. We are looking at a revitalization of the sports entertainment culture with an incredible focus on what makes Salt Lake City so special, a big part of which is our passion for recreation.”
Joining the celebration, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson lauded the event’s alignment with the region’s outdoor and sports identity. “Salt Lake County has long been a hub for outdoor adventure and action sports,” Wilson said.
The X Games will be broadcast nationally on ESPN and ABC, with a streaming option available on ROKU, bringing the energy and spectacle of the event to fans across the country.
