A Ranger for us all. Action Sports Today reviews the Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 High Lifter Edition

It is not a stretch to speculate that most action and adventure sports enthusiasts do not live far from the city. Whether you are a surfer in a beach town or a boarder in a mountain town, most of us that participate in action or adventure sports do not live on a farm.

Why a farm you may ask?

For me, even having driven the Polaris Ranger, always had the mindset that the Ranger is best served on a farm and not for every day use, nor does it have the pop and speed of the RZR that can run trails and bring thrills, but I learned how wrong I was.

What was the lesson I learned? Sometimes you just need a bad ass machine to do the work no matter where you live.

82 horsepower, seats six people, 13.5 inches worth of ground clearance, all wheel or two wheel drive, 28 inch outlaw tires, we can go on and on about the specifications but at the end of the day here are the five things you need to know!

#1 – It is the gift any man wants and because it seats six, you can take the whole family!

Let’s be honest, that tie you got for your Dad on fathers day just isn’t going to cut it. Let your Dad have something he wants. Just picture it. It feels right doesn’t it? Beyond the fact that it seats six, it is the most comfortable machine you’ll sit in. The All-New interior design touts ultimate comfort with thicker seats and greater leg room, intuitive driver-centric controls, and abundant, convenient storage through the cab.

And sometimes, you have to haul a princess bounce house. It’s ok to not be extreme all the time.

#2 – Forget wheelbarrows, get a Ranger instead.

Nobody wants to push a wheelbarrow around! It is hard labor. The old adage is work smarter not harder. Amen. With the Polaris Bed Box, you can haul anything you need. I just hauled over 50 tons of dirt to build up my back yard. Saving money and saving my back.

#3 – Heavy duty pulling power.

Whether you realize it or not, sometimes a good winch. You can ready for anything with the heavy-duty capabilities of a factory-installed Polaris Pro 4,500 LB HD winch.

While working in the yard, a massive tree root system from old trees was discovered. Rather than digging them out the hard way, a simple use of the winch system pulled them right out.

#4 – Clean air no matter what.

Now this is where you can really go have some fun. With other systems, you run the risk of engine failure in rainy, snowy or muddy conditions because clean air is not flowing into the engine. Problem solved.

Higher-mounted air intakes to ensure clean air reaches the engine and clutches run cool. Plus, all vent lines are integrated into the cab frame to keep them free of debris.

#5 – Best and most innovative drainage system out there.

And since you have that clear air flowing through the engine you can really take the Ranger off road. And when that time comes that its full of water, the industry leading premium half-doors feature a 1″ drain allowing for quick water and mud evacuation from the cab.
