The All New Corvette E-Ray

All Electric and 0-60 in 2.5 Seconds.

70 years to the day the first Corvette was announced and over eight generations later, Corvette has been innovated upon time and time again.

Now, it’s been electrified for the first time with an e-AWD system that works in tandem with its LT2 V8 engine to give it the fastest 0 to 60 time ever for this legendary nameplate. But this latest Corvette isn’t made simply for performance. With standard all-season tires and Magnetic Selective Ride Control, it’s made for all-season touring too.

Designed for year-round performance, E-Ray and its electrified AWD capability is always up for a challenge, whether it’s snow, rain, mud or ice. But this sophisticated supercar wasn’t created to take on Mother Nature alone. With technology inspired by the C8.R race car and Le Mans prototypes, plus standard carbon ceramic brakes, it’s made to take on the greatest cars in the world.

With the addition of an electric drive unit on the front axle, you can expect incredible acceleration as well as impressive horsepower and torque on both road and track.

Plus with the all new “Stealth Mode”, you can quietly sneak out of the neighborhood without making a sound until you get to the wide open space where you can unleash this beast.

The first-ever “electrified” Corvette will be available later this year starting at more than $104,000, the automaker said Tuesday.

The vehicle also will be all-wheel drive, another first for the quintessential American sports car.

General Motors has stated that the E-Ray, will be the quickest production Corvette ever. It will achieve 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds – similar to some supercars and the current Corvette Z06 track car.

This power is created from the E-Ray’s hybrid system features an electric motor on the front axle that provides 160 additional horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. It provides a quicker takeoff than a traditional internal combustion engine.

In total, GM said the E-Ray produces a combined 655 horsepower from both the electric motor and small-block V-8. It will be available as a coupe and convertible.

Exterior

The E-Ray features a host of functional design elements, adding wider fenders, quarter panels and fascias. The result is a sleek, sculpted presence with a number of aerodynamic and performance benefits. Standard ground effects and spoiler contribute further to its aerodynamic prowess, while matching body-color accents provide a refined look.

Additionally, an all-new unique E-Ray badging looks ahead toward the incredible future of Corvette.

Technology

With a standard Head-Up Display, you can keep your eyes on the road ahead. Or track, because E-Ray can also be equipped with an available Performance Data Recorder that can help you become a better driver.

New driver information screens keep you in the know about the vehicle’s battery power in addition to a host of performance parameters. The all-new E-Ray App, conveniently located on the center screen, gives you a quick look at even more performance data, RWD vs. FWD power and vehicle information.

The E-Ray coupe will start at $104,295, followed by the convertible version at $111,295. The pricing is slightly lower than $106,695 Corvette Z06. Pricing includes mandatory destination and delivery fees.

GM revealed the E-Ray on the 70th anniversary of when the Detroit automaker unveiled the original concept car of the Corvette at the Motorama auto show in New York City.

The E-Ray is expected to be one of eight new or redesigned models for Chevrolet in 2023. Others include all-electric versions of the Silverado pickup, and Equinox and Blazer crossovers, as well as the gas-powered Colorado and Trax.
