Ryan Sheckler Announces New Red Bull Skateboarding Video Part and Feature-Length Film

Video Part “Lifer” and Film “Rolling Away” to Release July 28th on Red Bull Tideo Part “Lifer” and Film “Rolling Away” to Release July 28th on Red Bull TV.

This summer marks the release of Ryan Sheckler’s first feature-length film and full-length solo video part. Produced by Red Bull Media House, “Rolling Away” follows Ryan’s three-year, injury-fought journey of filming “Lifer”, the action sport icon’s most monumental video part to date. Both “Rolling Away” and “Lifer” will be available for viewing starting July 28th on Red Bull TV.

An inspiring tale that celebrates skateboarding and the length one will go to achieve their goals, “Rolling Away” also chronicles Ryan Sheckler’s prolific skateboarding career. With icons such as Tony Hawk, Paul Rodriguez, Geoff Rowley, and Klay Thompson offering first-hand commentary about Ryan’s talents and life in the spotlight: From pre-teen phenom, MTV kid and mainstream celebrity, to seasoned pro athlete and mentor that continues to perform at an elite level, the film captures Ryan’s lifelong commitment to skateboarding.

“I’ve been skating for almost 31 years and now I’m 33 years old,” said Sheckler. “It’s crazy to think about it that way, but that’s what “Rolling Away” and “Lifer” is all about. It’s the culmination of my journey with skateboarding and proof that it’s unlike any other sport,” said Sheckler. ”Skaters will continue to push the limits of what’s possible, and that’s why this was such a labor of love. This is my statement as a skateboarder.”

Fresh from the hype of his legendary part in Red Bull Skateboarding’s 2019 film, “You Good?”, Ryan has dedicated 100 percent of his energy into “Lifer”, a video part geared to cement his legacy. From landing his first kickflip at age six, to winning the first of seven X Games medals at age 13, to dominating the skateboard contest circuit throughout his 20 year professional career, the San Clemente native is the epitome of the video part’s title.

“The Rolling Away film is about whatever you’re focused on and the length one will go to accomplish it,” said Sheckler. “We’re all misunderstood in one aspect of another. For me, what should not be misunderstood is that I’m a skateboarder through and through. This is my life. People don’t really see this side of my life. Yeah, they know I’m a skateboarder, but do you know what I’ve been through to continue being a skateboarder? It’s a lot. It doesn’t deter me from skateboarding. It doesn’t deter me from putting the work in and going through it. I’ve been through this. I’ve been through the injuries, and I’ve never stopped. I always come back just a little bit better, a little stronger, a little smarter.”

To check out the unparalleled work ethic, dedication, and jaw-dropping talent of Ryan Sheckler, tune-in to Red Bull TV starting on July 28th, where “Lifer” and “Rolling Away” will be available for free and on-demand. “Rolling Away” will also be available to watch July 29th on ESPN2 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET, with “Lifer” being available on Red Bull Skateboarding YouTube starting July 28th.

The world premiere of “Rolling Away” and “Lifer” will take place at The Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles, California on July 27th at 7 PM PT. Tickets are available for purchase by the general public at win.gs/worldpremiere.
